Jewellery Display for Markets and Craft Fairs: Packing Light, Selling More

At a market you are looking at the tops of heads. Anything flat on a table is invisible from three metres. Two or three tall pieces pull people in.

Everything must survive a car boot

Choose props that stack, nest or fold. A beautiful display that arrives chipped is a wasted trip.

Weight your tall pieces

Outdoor stalls get wind. A tall stand needs a base heavy enough to survive a gust or it will take stock down with it.

One table, three zones

Impulse and low price at the front edge, mid range in the middle, hero pieces raised at the back. Customers step forward through the price ladder.

Bring twice the display, half the stock

Sparse stock on good displays outsells crowded stock on bad ones. It also means less to pack down.

Mirror at eye height, not flat

A flat mirror on the table shows the ceiling. A small standing mirror at face height is the single best conversion tool on a jewellery stall.

Label without shouting

Small neat price cards beat a big handwritten sign. Prices reduce the friction of asking.

Practise the pack down once at home

Timing your pack down before the first market tells you whether your display choice is realistic on a wet Sunday afternoon.
