A customer scans a counter in about three seconds. Whatever sits at eye level gets read first, everything below it gets skimmed. That is why a flat tray of rings converts worse than the same rings on angled seats — height is not decoration, it is sequencing.
Build three tiers, not five
Front row: impulse and entry price. Middle: your bread and butter. Back and highest: the hero piece that anchors the price range. Three levels is enough; five looks like a market stall.
One finish family per case
Mixing suede, acrylic and wood in one case makes each piece look borrowed. Pick one family and buy risers, busts and trays inside it.
Leave air
Gaps are what make a case read expensive. If every square inch is filled, nothing is special. Rule of thumb: a third of the case surface stays empty.
