Keeping Jewellery Displays Looking New: A Short Maintenance Routine

Dust settles into pile and dulls colour within days. A soft brush across every tray at open is a two-minute job that buys months of life.

Lint roller belongs on the counter

Velvet and microfiber attract hair and thread. Keeping the roller within reach means it actually gets used.

Never use household spray on suede or microfiber

Solvents leave rings and stiffen the pile. A barely damp cloth and air drying is the safe method.

Rotate window pieces every few weeks

Sunlight fades one side of a display before you notice. Rotating evens the wear and doubles usable life.

Watch for flattened patches

Where staff rest a hand, pile flattens permanently. Move high-contact trays to the back of the case before it becomes visible.

Check acrylic for micro-scratches

Acrylic scuffs go cloudy under lights. A polish once or twice a year restores clarity; replacing is the alternative.

Tighten and re-glue early

A wobbling bust or a lifting corner is a small fix today and a bin job in a month.

Keep a written replacement cycle

Deciding in advance that trays get replaced yearly removes the slow drift into a tired-looking shop.
