Refreshing a Tired Jewellery Case Without Buying New Stock

You cannot see a case you have been looking at for two years. Take everything out and start from bare glass.
Add one height
If everything currently sits at one level, a single row of risers changes the case more than any new piece of stock.
Cut the item count by a quarter
Removing stock almost always increases sales per case. Density reads as clearance.
Replace the lining before the props
A faded lining makes new trays look wrong. Lining is usually the cheapest item and the biggest visual change.
Group by one story
One metal, one price band or one collection per case. Mixed cases require the customer to do the sorting.
Move the hero piece to the customer's right
In most shops customers travel left to right along a case. The last thing they see is what they remember.
Clean the glass inside and out
It sounds trivial and it is the single most noticeable improvement.
Photograph the result
A before and after tells you whether it worked and gives you social content for free.
