Branded Jewellery Boxes in Small Quantities: 10–200 Units
Teilen
Most searches for "custom jewellery boxes wholesale" end at the same wall: a packaging printer quotes a minimum of several hundred boxes, artwork approval and a lead time of weeks. This guide covers what works between 10 and 200 units: a plain stock box, plus one of four ways to put your name on it.
To be clear first: our boxes and pouches are listed and sold plain. Some styles can be printed with your logo and others cannot, because every box style is made differently. If you want a logo, tell us the style and quantity before ordering and we will confirm whether that style can be printed. If the style you like cannot, the options below still work.
Start with a plain box that will take branding
The lid material decides which method will work, so choose the base box first. From our jewellery packaging range, these five suit a small brand:
- PU Leather Octagonal Jewellery Box — PU leather; ring box 7×7×5 cm, pendant and bracelet boxes 10×10×4.5 cm, necklace box 22.8×5.5×4 cm; beige, white, blue or red; minimum 10 per style. PU leather is the easiest stock finish to brand: it takes a self-adhesive label cleanly and is the surface local foil stampers are most used to.
- PU Leather Jewellery Box with Velvet Interior — PU leather exterior, microfibre and velvet lining; ring box 7×6.5×6 cm, pendant and bracelet boxes 10×10×3.5 cm, long chain box 22.5×6×3 cm; beige or black; minimum 10 per style. The 10×10 cm pendant box has a flat top with room for a centred mark.
- Premium Suede Ring Box — suede; from a 6.5×6.5×6.5 cm ring box to a 19.5×19.5×6 cm set box; black, dark green, dark blue or carmine; minimum 10 per style. Suede looks expensive but its nap fights both adhesive and foil. Brand it from the inside.
- Engagement Ring Box (velvet) — velvet; ring box 6.2×6.2×5.8 cm, pendant 7.2×8.2×4.4 cm, bracelet 9.3×9.3×4.6 cm, necklace 23.2×5.6×3.7 cm; red, orange, dark green or dark blue; minimum 10 per style. Labels lift and foil sinks into the pile, so use ribbon or an insert card.
- Velvet Jewellery Storage Bag — velvet pouch, 10.5×15.5×5 cm; white, green, blue or pink; minimum 10 per style. No lid to stamp, so use a swing tag on the drawstring or a printed ribbon tie.
In short: PU leather takes labels and foil well; suede and velvet take neither well and should be branded with ribbon, tissue and cards. More gift-ready styles are in jewellery gift boxes; the textured options are grouped under velvet and suede ring boxes.
Option 1: self-adhesive logo labels
The cheapest branding there is, and the only one that works at 10 units with no set-up.
Place the label centred on the lid, or in the lower right corner for a quieter look. Keep it off the lid edge, which is rubbed every time the box opens. Size it at roughly a quarter to a third of the lid's shortest side: around 20–25 mm on a 7×7 cm ring box lid, around 30 mm on a 10×10 cm pendant box.
Labels sit flat on PU leather. On suede or velvet the adhesive grips only the tips of the fibres and peels within weeks.
Option 2: printed ribbon
A single-colour logo printed along satin or grosgrain ribbon, tied around the box or the neck of a pouch. Ribbon is sold by the roll, so one roll covers far more boxes than a first order, and it works on every material because it touches nothing but itself. It is the best answer for suede, velvet and the pouch above.
Option 3: branded tissue, cards and inserts
Inside branding is what the customer sees when the lid lifts, which is the moment that matters. Three things, all available in short runs from a local or online printer:
- A small printed card tucked under the ring slot or pendant pad, with your name, care instructions and how to reorder.
- Printed tissue wrapped around the box, or lining a pouch.
- A swing tag on a ribbon loop for pouches and for boxes where nothing on the lid will stick.
None of these touch the box finish, so they work on all five products above.
Option 4: hot-foil stamping on a stock box by a local printer
This is the closest small-run route to a "proper" custom box, and it is a job for a local foil stamper or print finisher, not a packaging factory. You deliver the plain boxes; they press a heated metal block with foil film onto the lid. The realities:
- A block is made once. The die carrying your logo is a one-off set-up cost. After that, reorders of 20 or 50 boxes only cost the stamping, which is why this gets sensible from around 50 units.
- Flat lids stamp best. A domed or heavily padded lid gives an uneven impression.
- PU leather stamps well. It is smooth, takes heat evenly and holds a crisp edge.
- Suede and velvet stamp poorly. The pile crushes under the die and the foil edge blurs. Ask to see a sample before committing.
- Keep the artwork simple. A wordmark or monogram foils cleanly; fine lines and small text do not.
- Send one box first. The finisher will want a test piece to set pressure and temperature, so order a few spares.
If you would rather not use a local finisher, ask us first: some of our styles can be printed with a logo, depending on the style.
When fully custom boxes make sense
A fully custom box is made by a packaging printer to your dimensions, wrap colour, lining and logo. It makes sense when you sell enough of one piece size to clear the minimum within a year, when no stock range carries your colour, or when the box is part of the product rather than a cost beside it. It does not make sense while your logo, range or box sizes are still changing.
What to ask a packaging printer:
- Minimum quantity per size and colour, and whether sizes can be combined to reach it.
- Lead time from artwork approval to delivery, including the sample stage.
- Tooling charges, and whether they apply again on reorders.
- Whether the price includes the inner lining or insert, or only the outer box.
- How many boxes per carton, which decides your storage.
Decision table: quantity to sensible option
| Boxes you need | Sensible option | Base box |
|---|---|---|
| 10–30 | Self-adhesive label on the lid, plus a printed card inside | PU leather for a lid label; any material for an inside card |
| 30–50 | Printed ribbon and branded tissue; label as well if the lid is PU leather | Any material; ribbon is the fix for suede and velvet |
| 50–200 | Hot-foil stamping by a local finisher, once the block cost spreads across the run | Flat-lid PU leather; keep suede and velvet for ribbon and inserts |
| Several hundred up, one size, one colour | Fully custom box from a packaging printer | Not a stock box; expect samples, tooling and weeks of lead time |
Ordering the plain boxes
Boxes are sold from 10 per style, so a first branded run can be one style in one size while you test the label or the foil. Prices are shown on each product page in HKD and converted at checkout, and orders ship worldwide with tracking.
